Palyushki is one of the most famous dishes of Ukrainian cuisine. But the Italians say their gnocchi was the first. They are actually the same thing. This potato dish is the perfect option for a simple, quick lunch for every day. It’s quite simple to prepare. The recipe is easy and straightforward, the dish is more than budget-friendly, and the result will surprise you. And when the dumplings are also in curd sauce, it turns out not just tasty, but super tasty, says food blogger Sofia Gavriltsev.
Compound:
1 kg boiled potatoes
200 g flour
2 eggs
Salt, pepper - to your taste
150 g hard cheese
50 g butter
Oil for frying.
Preparation
Boil the potatoes in their skins in salted water, cool, peel and grind through a meat grinder. Add eggs, salt, pepper, flour to the potatoes and knead the dough.
File the work surface with flour, shape the dough into 4 flagella and cut crosswise into pieces. Each piece is easy to press with your finger, giving it a round shape.
Cook in salted boiling water for several minutes until they float. Place the finished ones in a frying pan with vegetable oil and fry until lightly golden.
Sprinkle with finely grated cheese (the cheese needs to melt well and not be too salty), add butter. When the cottage cheese begins to melt, add the water in which we boiled the lazy dumplings and bring it to the consistency of liquid sour cream.
