In May, Ukrainians bought more than 5 thousand new cars: TOP-5 popular models in the country were named

Despite the war, just over 5,100 new passenger cars were registered in Ukraine in May, which is twice as many as in the past.

This was reported by the profile association “Ukrautoprom”.

“At the same time, the effective demand for new cars is 39% behind the pre-war May 2021 indicator. In relation to the previous month, consumer activity in the car market has not changed much,” - the message says.

Thus, the leadership in the market is held by the Japanese brand Toyota - 861 units. In second place is Renault - 501 units.

Closes the TOP-3 Volkswagen - 446 units.

Also in the TOP-5 of May were Hyundai (347 units) and BMW (344 units).

“The bestseller of the month on the Ukrainian market of new passenger cars remains the Renault Duster compact crossover, which has chosen 472 buyers. In total, since the beginning of the year, 21.5 thousand new passenger cars have been registered in Ukraine, which is 44% more than in the same period in 2022,” added to associations.

Earlier it was reported that in the 1st quarter of 2023, 11.2 thousand new passenger cars were registered in Ukraine, which is 0.05% more than in the past. As of the beginning of 2023, the average age of cars in Ukraine is 23.2 years, last year it increased by 6 months.
