17-year-old Ukrainian basketball player Vladimir Ermakov tragically died in Germany, the Ukrainian Basketball Federation reports on Facebook. Previously, an ex-player from the Ukrainian national team died as a result of rocket attacks in Lviv.
“Volodya and his friend Artem Kozachenko played for the youth team ART Giants (U-19) from Dusseldorf. On the eve of the next match, young basketball players were attacked with knives on the street simply because they were Ukrainians.
The whole team spent the night in the hospital next to our guys. Unfortunately, doctors were unable to save Ermakov, and Kozachenko remains in intensive care. The local police are investigating the case, there were witnesses red-handed,” the Kyiv Basketball Federation said in a statement.
Vladimir Ermakov played basketball since childhood and played in the teams “Teyvaz” (Boyarka) and “5T.EAM-DYUSSH-12” (Kyiv).
In 2022, the basketball player as part of the Ukrainian youth team (U-16) competed at the European Championship in Bulgaria.
Earlier, FACTS reported that the two-meter European champion in Russia was brutally beaten until he lost consciousness.
