The Uzhhorod city district court of the Transcarpathian region sentenced Tatyana Pop. She was found guilty of collaborationism and the justification and glorification of Russia’s armed aggression, as it became known from the case file.
Tatyana is a native of Khust. For several years she worked as a presenter on a regional TV channel. She also “lit up” on national television, becoming a participant in the first season of “The Bachelor”. In 2012, she left for Moscow, where she worked on the Russian TV show Mom in Law, starred in the Dom-2 project. After 2014, she was one of those who did not support the Revolution of Dignity.
According to the materials of the case, in December 2019, Tatyana Pop left for the Russian Federation and, after the start of aggression against Ukraine, supported the policy of the so-called “Russian world”. Guided by ideological motives, being on the territory of the occupying country, she created information resources in social networks. Through them, she prepared and created posts containing information about the glorification and justification of the actions of the military Armed Forces of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine and the dissemination of false information discrediting the actions of the military Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In particular, on March 16, 2022, Tatyana Pop posted the following content on one of her telegram channels: “Today, at the same time, video footage of civilians killed in Chernihiv, who were allegedly shot by Russian servicemen, were distributed on all propaganda resources of the Kyiv regime. I would like to emphasize that there were no Russian servicemen in Chernihiv, and there are none. All units of the Russian armed forces are outside Chernihiv, blocking the roads and are not conducting any offensive operations on the garden. On the video footage replicated by Ukrainian propagandists, there are no traces of ammunition explosions. All windows in nearby buildings are intact. There are no damage to the walls, there are no second traces of an explosion on the ground. Thus, all the dead people are victims of terror.“.

On March 18, a propagandist posted the following post: “Russia did a lot to raise the Crimea and Sevastopol, they had to be pulled out of their humiliating state as part of Ukraine; The Crimeans wanted to live on their own land, with their historical family, with the Russian Federation. The case file contains more than ten such publications, in addition, Tatyana Pop recorded videos in support of the Putin regime and published them on the Odnoklassniki platform banned in Ukraine.
According to the conclusion of the forensic-linguistic semantic-textual examination, the articles and messages submitted for research contain objections to the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of the persons who carried out the armed aggression against Ukraine.
In addition, after moving permanently to Russia, Tatyana Pop created an international public organization and a number of information resources of the same name, through which, together with representatives of the aggressor state or representatives of the occupation administration, organizes, conducts, highlights and popularizes political and other events in electronic Internet resources in their support. She speaks on Russian, including state, information resources, TV channels and news agencies, where she regularly expresses her support for Russia in occupation activities against Ukraine, justifying the criminal nature of the armed aggression of her activities in Ukraine.

A separatist with Ukrainian citizenship was reported on suspicion of committing a crime under Part 2 of Art. 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – “Justification, recognition of lawfulness, denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants.” She was put on the wanted list. Since she lives in Russia and did not appear at the court hearings, the case was considered in the absence of Tatyana Pop.
One of the witnesses during the court session confirmed that the accused really lived in Khust, in 2013 he saw her for the last time. Then, from acquaintances, it became known to him that Tatyana Pop had left for Russia. According to the witness, in March 2022, he repeatedly read the publications of the propagandist, which she posted on her Facebook page. The judges also heard the sister of Tatyana Pop, who said that after the start of military aggression by the Russian Federation, she does not communicate with her. The witness knows that her sister went abroad to the Russian Federation. At the same time, she confirmed that the person on the publications posted on social networks is indeed his sister. The witness refused to provide further explanations.
In the end, the panel of judges found Tatyana Pop guilty of committing criminal offenses and sentenced her to 12 years in prison with confiscation of all property belonging to her with deprivation of the right to hold positions in state authorities, state administration, local self-government -administrative and administrative functions for a period of 15 years. She must pay the state the legal costs incurred for the forensic linguistic examination in the amount of UAH 10,327.35.
