“But there’s no way to completely abandon Russian songs?”: Max Barskikh justified himself for his repertoire

Must read

Ukrainian singer Max Barsky, who has condemned the Kremlin’s actions since the first day of the Russian invasion, embarked on the Bestseller World Tour charity tour. He set out on his Instagram page an explanatory message regarding the mixed repertoire of the show, which features the artist’s Russian-language hits:

“This war has had a great impact on me, perhaps, as it has on each of you. It brought a lot of pain and suffering, but at the same time made us stronger. I dedicated my new show to the story of a simple guy from Kherson, whose life was intervened by the war. And he divided this story into three parts: “Past”, “Present”, “Future”. In the first block, I sing songs that made me popular, songs that people associate with the best memories. What follows is part of my musical diary of the war, which I began to write from the beginning of the war. And in the third block, I introduce you to completely new compositions that will be included in the new album a little later.”

Max also added that he is grateful to every Ukrainian who finds the strength to come to concerts and give unforgettable emotions, to the Poles for the incredible support of our compatriots and contribution to our common victory.

“Each of your tickets is a donation to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Total to victory! – said the artist.

Many fans supported the singer and thanked him for supporting the country. However, there were those who condemned his decision.

“Is there no way to completely throw out Muscovite songs from the repertoire, Max? Or then people won’t come to your concerts? - other users of the social network did not hide their anger.

Recall that recently Max Barskikh signed a contract with Warner Music Poland and released a new song.
