The enemy attacked Ukraine with “Shaheds” at night: all drones were shot down over Kiev, there is an “arrival” in the Dnieper

On the night of Wednesday, May 3, 2023, the Russian invaders carried out another air attack with Iranian-made kamikaze drones from the north (Bryansk region) and from the south - the eastern coast of the Sea of ​​Azov.

According to the command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the invaders used Shahed-136/131 attack drones on 26, of which 21 attack UAVs were destroyed by the forces and means of the Air Force in cooperation with the air defense of other components of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. Anti-aircraft missile weapons, aviation and mobile fire groups were used in the areas of responsibility of the Air Command “Center”, the Air Command “East” and the Air Command “South”.

As reported head of the Nikolaev Regional State Administration Vitaly Kimdue to the hit of a Shahed-131/136 UAV, a fire broke out in a private household in the territory of the settlement of the Kutsurub community. “Ignition was promptly eliminated by a subdivision of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Nikolaev region. There are no casualties”he added.

The second kamikaze drone sent across Mykolaiv region was destroyed by the defense forces.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, over the past day, the enemy launched 3 missile and 39 air strikes, carried out 63 shelling from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of our troops and settlements. Civilians suffered, private houses and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged. The likelihood of the enemy launching missile and air strikes across the entire territory of Ukraine remains high.

The enemy continues to concentrate his main efforts on conducting offensive operations in the Limansky, Bakhmutsky, Avdeevsky and Maryinsky directions - he made more than 30 attacks. Bakhmut and Marinka remain in the epicenter of hostilities, our defenders hold the line.

• In the Liman direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the area south of Dibrova.

• On the Bakhmut direction, fighting continues in the city of Bakhmut. In addition, the invaders unsuccessfully attacked in the direction of Ivanovsky and Predtechinoe.

• In the Avdeevka direction, the enemy conducted offensive operations in the Pervomaisky region of the Donetsk region, but was not successful.

• Enemy attacks in the Maryinka area were repelled in the Maryinka direction.

• In the Zaporozhye and Kherson directions, the enemy continues to conduct defensive operations. He carried out shelling of more than 30 settlements.

Aviation of the Defense Forces over the past 24 hours inflicted 8 strikes on areas of concentration of enemy personnel, and units of missile forces and artillery hit 1 command post, 12 areas of concentration of weapons and military equipment, 4 ammunition, 1 air defense and another important one.

According to official data, on the morning of May 3, enemy losses in personnel reached almost 192,000 servicemen killed. During the day, units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine destroyed 70 units of enemy equipment.

Recall that Professor Mark Galeotti, considered one of the best experts on Russia, wrote in an article for The Sunday Times about the expected counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In his opinion, it most likely will not bring significant results, but it is becoming increasingly difficult for Kyiv to postpone it, including for political reasons.

And Ukrainian journalist Serhiy Lyamets believes that hysteria is being created in the information space about the offensive and calls on Ukrainians to have patience, because the General Staff has clearly calculated all possible options and will make the right decision at the right time.
