In Ukraine, where several schemes for evaders escaping abroad were recently exposed, the rules for staying in the border strip have changed. Now, to stay in the border strip, you must have permission from the State Border Service. The department reported this.
“The Government of Ukraine, by Decree No. 1292 of Ukraine dated December 7, amended the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of July 27, 1998 No. 1147 “On the border regime.” In addition to the above, the Government has established a special border regime and prohibits free entry, stay, residence, movement of persons and work not related to defense or protection of the state border, within land plots 30-50 meters wide along the state border line on land, along the coast the Ukrainian part of the border river, lake or other body of water, and along the line of the state border of Ukraine with the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus - up to 2 km wide, which are provided for permanent use by military units of the State Border Service for the construction, arrangement and maintenance of engineering and fortification structures , fences, border markers, border clearings, communications”– the message says.
