Residents of three regions of Ukraine will be paid money for “winterization”: what is it, who can receive it and what amounts

On December 1, a joint project of the Ministry of Social Policy and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) was launched, within the framework of which low-income large families and low-income families with children with disabilities living in certain areas of the Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporozhye and Kharkov regions, defined by UNICEF program documents, will receive funds for “winterization” “(preparing for winter). The planned volume of the project is UAH 333 million.

The ministry reports that assistance will be provided for three months in the amount of 3,600 hryvnia per month for each recipient of state social assistance and an additional 6,660 hryvnia for each child.

The project will approximately cover about 5 thousand families.

It is noted that two more important projects were launched earlier, which became possible thanks to international partners. Thus, together with the World Food Program, additional payments were made to pensioners who live in a combat zone and receive low pensions. Thanks to this, 317 thousand people are already receiving increased payments.

And together with the United Nations Refugee Agency in Ukraine (UNHCR Ukraine), they launched a project under which families who heat their homes with wood or coal will receive significant additional support for heating their homes. This makes it possible to increase the amount of marginal support for a family that heats their home with solid heating oil from UAH 6,973 to UAH 16,234 per year. UAH 2.2 billion will be allocated for this project, of which UAH 1.3 billion. will be covered by UNHCR Ukraine.

This opportunity is available to displaced persons who have suffered from military operations in certain regions, as well as those who have returned to their permanent place of residence, including from abroad.
