On Wednesday, March 29, British King Charles III arrived in Berlin on an official state visit. He is accompanied by his wife Queen Consort Camilla. The royal couple flew aboard a British government aircraft Voyager. He took off from a military airfield in Oxfordshire. The plane landed at the Berlin airport.
He was escorted into German airspace by two German fighters.
Charles and Camilla were greeted by German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife Elke Büdenbender.

For Charles as king, this is the first state visit. Prior to that, he had already visited Germany 28 times. It was originally planned that Charles would make his first visit to France, but the massive protests that swept this country forced the Elysee Palace to issue a statement about the postponement of this event.
