Ivanitsa in Chernihiv region said goodbye to the hero Alexander Kovtun. On February 24, the defender did not get in touch, he was covered with fire from the air during the shelling of positions. The soldier was badly wounded. Comrades still tried to save him, they took him to the hospital, but he died from a large loss of blood. Alexander dreamed of ordinary human values: he wanted to have a family, children, because at the age of 32 he was single, according to the local publication Trudovaya Slava.
“After graduating from school in Priluki, Alexander studied as an electric and gas welder. After a year of service in the ranks of conscripts of the Armed Forces, he matured and matured. Although life forced him to grow up even earlier. Their mother, having given birth to two twin children Sasha and Svetlana, was widowed a year later. After some time, she married a second time and, after the birth of Oleg, buried another man two years later. Alexander was then eight years old. He learned early to be a master in the family, and over the years his responsibility for his relatives only grew. After the army, he worked as a fitter at Ukrtelecom. Then Alexander moved to Kyiv, where, together with his younger brother Oleg, he worked in a car service. But after an accident in which the young man was seriously injured, he returned to his native Ivanitsa again. According to Svetlana’s sister, because of them he was not taken on mobilization in the ATO. Worked at a local farm.
However, in July 2022, a summons came again from the Recruitment and Social Support Center. And although his health did not improve at all, the guy joined the ranks of the defenders, got into the airborne assault brigade. He fought in Kramatorsk, later near Novomikhailovka, Donetsk region. He went on reconnaissance, passed the territory, worked out the mortar crew on the positions of the enemy, which were corrected from the air.
“On the eve of a terrible disaster, Sasha responded: “Hi! I’m fine. And how are you?“ Sister Svetlana, as always, unsubscribed that they were waiting for him to go home. The nephew is especially small. But we didn’t get a response.”.
