In the east the situation remains difficult. This was reported by Commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Colonel General Alexander Syrsky.
“The Russians are particularly active in the Kupyansk region, where they are trying to move forward in several directions. In the Bakhmut area, the enemy significantly strengthened its group and moved from defense to active action. With such actions, the Russians are trying to stop the movement of the defense forces. The enemy is suffering heavy losses and cannot achieve their goals.”– he said.
The commander of the Tavria operational-strategic group of troops, Alexander Tarnavsky, informed about the destruction of another Russian Su-25.
“Another Russian Su-25 was destroyed. This is already the sixth in the Avdeevka direction since October 10 this year. In total, in the Taurida direction the enemy carried out 21 airstrikes, conducted 36 military clashes and carried out 1086 artillery shellings. Our soldiers are staunchly holding the defense in the Avdeevsky direction. The enemy’s offensive actions in the areas of Novokalinovoy, Avdeevka, Oprosny and Pervomaisky were unsuccessful. Rocket and artillery units from the Tavria OSUV completed 1,387 fire missions during the day. The total enemy losses were 527 people. 49 units of military equipment were destroyed. In particular, 5 tanks, 6 armored fighting vehicles, 4 artillery systems, one aircraft, 23 UAVs, 8 vehicles. 4 enemy ammunition depots were also destroyed. At the same time, the offensive operation in the Melitopol direction continues.”– he said.
As FACTS wrote, former commander of US forces in Europe Ben Hodges previously noted that Ukrainian troops are relying on a successful strategy to neutralize Russia’s advantages. This refers to the concentration of efforts of the Ukrainian Defense Forces on striking Russian artillery, headquarters and logistics centers, which should complicate the movement of enemy troops.
