Unable to break through the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the occupiers shoot at the front-line settlements: operational data of the General Staff on March 12

The Russians continue to shell Ukraine. Over the past day, the enemy launched 12 air and 5 missile strikes, 2 of which hit the city of Zaporozhye. The Russian invaders used the S-300 air defense system on a civilian infrastructure facility. As a result, one building was destroyed. There are no casualties or wounded among the civilian population. In addition, the enemy made 56 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems. One of them is on the object of civil infrastructure of the city of Kherson. There are casualties among the civilian population: two killed and three wounded. This was reported in the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Office of the Prosecutor General reported that three people were killed during the shelling of Kherson.

Commenting on the strikes of rashists on civilians, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky noted:

“Rockets and artillery, drones and mortars – the evil state uses different weapons. But for one purpose. In order to destroy life and leave nothing human. Ruins, debris, shell craters in the ground - this is a self-portrait of Russia, which she paints where normal life reigns without Russia. Today, Russian shelling claimed the lives of people in Kherson who simply went to the grocery store. Three Ukrainians died. My condolences to the families! In Zaporozhye, a Russian missile hit a life-support facility in the city. In the border areas, the occupier shelled villages to intimidate people, to drive people away. But Russia will not be there. It has become synonymous with terror and will become an example of the defeat and just punishment for this terror. A Punishment the Kremlin Can’t Stop.

The General Staff also added that the main goal of the enemy over the past day was attempts to reach the administrative borders of Donetsk and Lugansk regions.

“For this, the enemy concentrated its main efforts on conducting offensive operations in the Limansky, Bakhmutsky, Avdeevsky, Maryinsky and Miners directions. Thanks to professional and well-coordinated actions, our defenders repulsed 92 enemy attacks in the indicated directions.- the message says.

They also noted that in the Kupyansky and Limansky directions, the enemy maintained its significant military presence in the areas bordering Ukraine to prevent our units from tipping over to other directions. During the previous day, the occupants unsuccessfully tried to break through the defenses of our troops by firing artillery at areas of 13 settlements along the line of military clashes. In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy did not stop the assault operations of the city of Bakhmut. In total, 15 settlements in the Bakhmut direction suffered from shelling by the occupiers.

“In the Avdeevsky, Maryinsky and Mining directions, the enemy attempted offensive operations in the direction of the settlements of Kamenka, Severnoye, Pervomayskoye, Nevelskoye, Krasnogorovka and Maryinka Donetska. Didn’t have success. Numerous enemy shellings were subjected to 18 settlements, which are near the line of collision.- reported in the General Staff.

In the Zaporozhye and Kherson directions, the enemy continues to defend. At the same time, intensive shelling of settlements was carried out. In total, about 40 settlements were affected.

“Aircraft of the Defense Forces in a day delivered 6 strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel and military equipment of the occupiers, and units of missile forces and artillery hit 4 areas of concentration of enemy personnel, one ammunition train and 2 deployment sites of enemy electronic warfare stations”– stated in the message of the General Staff.
