The terrorist country allegedly tested an intercontinental ballistic missile on Monday while President Joe Biden was in Ukraine. This is reported by the American television channel CNN. The test was unsuccessful, says the publication, citing two US officials.
Russia informed the US in advance of the launch, one official said. Another official said the test did not pose a threat to the United States and that the US did not consider it an escalation.
According to CNN, it was a failed launch of a Sarmat missile, dubbed “Satan II” in the West and capable of releasing multiple nuclear warheads. The rocket has been successfully tested before. If that test were also successful, Putin would have mentioned it in his address on Tuesday, US officials say.
Earlier political scientist and director of the sociological service “Ukrainian Barometer” Viktor Nebozhenkocommenting on the Russian president’s “keyword speech”, he said that the master of the Kremlin had chosen the worst possible strategy for Russia’s future.
