As a result of a multi-stage special operation in the Kyiv region, the counterintelligence service of the Security Service exposed another FSB agent - he turned out to be a resident of Bila Tserkva, who was recruited by a Russian intelligence officer back in December 2021.
After a written consent to cooperate with the enemy, this attacker received the operational pseudonym “Shadow” and the task of conducting reconnaissance and subversive activities against Ukraine. In particular, at the direction of the FSB, he traveled around the area and covertly collected information about the locations and movements of the Defense Forces units in the region. The priority of the “spy” was the discovery of command headquarters and warehouses with artillery weapons of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the press center of the SBU noted.
In addition, he transmitted to the aggressor the coordinates of local critical infrastructure facilities, including power generating enterprises, which the enemy used to prepare a series of targeted missile strikes on the region.
An enemy agent was detained while trying to collect classified information about Ukrainian military bases.
During interrogation, he admitted that in the future he planned to create an extensive network of agents for greater “coverage” of the region to collect intelligence in favor of the FSB.
During searches at the detainee’s address, law enforcement officers seized mobile phones red-handed with the aggressor, and in addition, a Russian passport and pro-Kremlin symbols.

On the basis of the collected evidence, the SBU investigators informed him of a suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (“high treason committed under martial law”).
The issue of choosing a measure of restraint in the form of detention is being decided.
Recall, on the eve of a similar crime, SBU officers exposed a resident of the Cherkasy region.
