In Ukraine, tariffs for water supply and drainage will increase, despite the fact that the regulator has abolished the corresponding decision.
This was stated by an expert on economic and political issues Georgy Birkade during the broadcast of the United News telethon.
The expert is convinced that tariffs will rise in the near future due to a number of factors. And the National Commission, which regulates energy and utilities, just has not yet agreed on a decision.
According to the expert, one of the reasons for the increase in tariffs is the need to finance the restoration of water and heat supply facilities damaged due to the war. It will take five billion dollars.
“It will still happen soon. Well, firstly, you and I know that there are, let’s say, many factors for this. Firstly, wages have increased, secondly, electricity has increased (in price. - Auth.). There are also IMF conditions, - said Georgy Birkadze.
Recall that in mid-December 2022, the National Energy Company Ukrenergo proposed to triple the tariffs for the transmission of electrical energy and double the tariffs for dispatching (operational and technological) management. The initiative was justified by the destruction of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure due to Russian shelling, which significantly increases the physical volume of work and their cost.
