Strange change in Google Play. It will be harder to install apps

Must read

Google has announced major changes to the Google Play app store. Soon, a rather useful feature that speeds up the loading of new programs will disappear from the application. What is it about?

Leading one of the most popular app stores, Google decided to change the features of the app. A key element of the user interface is about to change, which will affect the overall functionality of app downloads.

The “Install” button is hidden in Google Play. Why such a change?

According to Android Police journalists, a few days ago, Google began the first tests of the modified Google Play among a small group of users. The most notable change is the removal of the rather useful install button.

At the moment, after searching for a given phrase, the Internet user is shown the names of specific applications, and on the right side of the screen, he can click on the button that installs this application. It’s a fast and convenient way to find and test new programs. Applications could be downloaded with a single click.

Soon, the user will have to go a little deeper into the menu, because the install button will disappear from the search lists. It will only remain visible when we enter the name of a particular application very precisely.

Google Play makes users pay more attention

However, if we are looking for something more general on Google Play, we will have to delve into the options. At the search results level, we will be able to click on the arrow, which will provide us with additional information about the application and some screenshots. However, even from this menu, we will not install it. The user must separately enter the application data subpages and click the install button.

Why such a change? It looks like Google wants to draw users’ attention to bugs and potentially dangerous applications. If we know exactly what we are looking for, we can still save some time. However, what if we make a mistake or are looking for a new application without a specific goal? Then we should pay a little more attention to what we install on our mobile phone.

While this may drive some people crazy, in theory the new system will make it a little harder to install apps that pretend to be well-known services under their own name. At one time, there was a wave of ChatGPT fakes on Google Play, which used names very similar to the names of the OpenAI chat bot.
