He invented a revolutionary housing program for Poles. “Everyone will make money from this”

Must read

– Basic assumptions: the program is addressed to all Poles in order to make it fair. Nobody pays anyone anything extra. My idea of developing the housing market is to use cheap and easily accessible mortgage credit for this purpose. – says Krzysztof Oppenheim, financial expert on mortgage loans.

Szymon Krawiec, “Vprost”: Why can’t young Poles afford an apartment?

Krzysztof Oppenheim: The first important question: we pay too much attention to these “young people”, forgetting about the rest of the Poles. As a result, unnatural and immoral assistance programs are created, the purpose of which is to pay very significant sums of money for the purchase of apartments, especially for the “young”. Also when they are in a great situation. For me, this is a distortion, even a pathology, and I have been struggling with this for many years.

Doesn’t a Pole over 40 years of age, who does not come from a wealthy family and has previously raised funds for his own contribution, deserve the interest of our authorities in supporting his efforts to acquire real estate?

We already had a state program “Family itself”, there was an “Apartment for Young People”, there was a “Safe Loan 2%. How do you rate them?

They all contained the same mistakes: they were based on very high subsidies for the purchase of real estate, and the beneficiaries of these generous gifts were the richest Poles of the younger generation. Please note that one of the programs – Housing for Youth – already in its name indicates that it is contrary to the Constitution, Article 32, that is, equality and the prohibition of discrimination. The “old” were automatically excluded from generous government benefits. So, we are dealing with age discrimination here. I wonder what the reaction would be to a government program called “Apartment for Heterosexuals” or “Apartment for Educated People.”

However, someone uses these programs. Not just just anyone, but hundreds of thousands.

Yes, there is a lot of interest. Especially if you consider the amount of budget subsidies we are talking about: it amounted to 170,000 zlotys. Bonus in zlotys for the purchase of one property. So maybe we can go further: just give away apartments for free? There will be even more people willing.

Now we are preparing to launch “Hesitation at the Start”. Will there be a new quality?

This is the same economic idiocy as Safe Credit 2%, only much more confusing.

PiS tried to build apartments. There should have been 100,000 of them, but it turned out to be 20,000. Rafal Trzaskowski also promised apartments, but nothing came of it. The state cannot and is not suited to do this, or are it these politicians who have failed?
