Head of NASA in Poland. Visit to the Polish Space Agency

NASA Administrator Bill Nelson is visiting Poland. On Thursday, he visited the Polish Space Agency, where he spoke with its representatives about strengthening cooperation and Poland’s participation in subsequent projects.

Bill Nelson visited the Polish Space Agency on Thursday. The meeting was primarily devoted to strengthening cooperation and negotiations on Poland’s participation in further American projects. Thanking the Polish Space Agency for the work done, the head of NASA stressed that the golden age of space exploration has already begun, and the Poles cannot but participate in it. He also noted that the directions of development of POLSA and the Polish space sector are in line with NASA’s plans, so joint projects are only a matter of time.

Poland in the Artemis mission

During the meeting, Nelson said that Poland is a valuable partner and ally by joining the Artemis Accord in October 2021. The program, which currently has 25 participating countries, provides an opportunity to participate in NASA’s multilateral exploration-related programs. such as the Moon and Mars.

– For those who are interested in space, and this is probably for everyone in Poland, NASA is an icon. NASA has fulfilled the dream of a man standing on the moon, has developed many breakthrough technologies, explores other celestial bodies and the distant universe, and every space mission is an important step for humanity. We are honored to host NASA Administrator and Astronaut Bill Nelson at POLSA. I would like Poland not to be a passive observer of the activities of NASA, but to join them much more actively than before. The American delegation also met with students from Polish technical universities, participants in the international competition European Rover Challenge, who presented award-winning rovers and rocket designs.

Nelson’s visit to Poland will last until June 2. During this time, a representative of the US space agency will meet with companies from the Polish space industry, which will present their products to him. It will culminate in a meeting with young people at the Copernicus Science Center in Warsaw.
