The largest eSports event in Poland begins. The Poles return to the stage after an 8-year break

Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2024 starts today! The event, long-awaited by the players, has returned to Spodek and MCK. After an 8-year break, we will again be able to support the Polish national team. Let’s check out what the tournament schedule will bring us.

After an intense week of competition, ENCE players defeated opponents from eSports teams Astralis, Vitality and G2, securing a place in the playoffs. Now Spodek in Katowice will once again become an arena for eSports competitions. Four players from Poland – Pawel “dycha” Dych, Kacper “kylar” Walukiewicz, Krzysztof “goofie” Gurski and Olek “hades” Miskiewicz – have a chance to fulfill their dreams and make eSports history. This is the first such opportunity for Polish fans since 2016. The total prize fund of the tournament is one million dollars!

Katowice has long been considered the capital of Polish esports. Every year this city attracts players and fans from all over the world. This year’s competition will be accessible not only to those who will be there, but also to a wide range of viewers on platforms such as Twitch and YouTube. In addition, tournament participants can expect free entry to the IEM Expo at the International Convention Center, where they will have the opportunity to learn about esports, modern technology, meet other enthusiasts and try their hand at one of the most popular games.

IEM Katowice 2024 competition schedule

The schedule for IEM Katowice 2024 is as follows:

Friday (February 9):

  • 10:00 – MCK/IEM Expo doors open,

  • 12:00 – Opening of Spodek doors,

  • 14:30 – Access to seats in Spodek,

  • 16:00 – Opening ceremony,

  • 16:15 – Quarter-final No. 1 (BO3),

  • 19:30 – Quarter-final No. 2 (BO3),

  • 22:00 – Closing of the entrance gate.

Saturday (February 10):

  • 10:00 – MCK/IEM Expo doors open,

  • 12:00 – Opening of Spodek doors,

  • 14:30 – Access to seats in Spodek,

  • 16:00 – Opening ceremony,

  • 16:15 – Semi-final No. 1 (BO3),

  • 19:30 – Semi-final No. 2 (BO3),

  • 22:00 – Closing of the entrance gate.

Sunday (February 11):

  • 10:00 – MCK/IEM Expo doors open,

  • 12:00 – Opening of Spodek doors,

  • 15:00 – Access to seats in Spodek,

  • 16:50 – Opening ceremony,

  • 17:00 – Grand final (BO5),

  • 22:00 – Closing of the entrance gate.
