LEGO unveiled the Technic set featuring the phenomenal NASA Perseverance rover. The model is very detailed and has many moving parts. While not cheap, it seems like the perfect gift for the upcoming Children’s Day.
The LEGO group really put a lot of effort into their latest set. The iconic NASA Perseverance rover has joined the legendary LEGO Technic series. As befits the manufacturer, this is not just an interesting-looking model that can be put on a shelf. Perseverance can do a lot.
LEGO Technic NASA Mars Rover Perseverance set – what can the new model do?
According to the manufacturer, the NASA Mars Rover Perseverance kit (code 42158) should be more than a toy. LEGO describes the new offering as a STEM product designed to encourage kids to excel in science and “inspire the engineers of tomorrow.”
Designed for children aged 10 and over, the model has exactly 1132 parts. The rover not only looks phenomenal, but also has a fully replicated suspension that allows the model to overcome uneven terrain – just like in the original. The highlight of the program, however, is the movable arm on the boom, which can be mechanically steered through 360 degrees.

That’s not all, because Perseverance’s companion can be a copy of the NASA Ingenuity helicopter. The small recon pod also looks great and complements the much larger rover nicely.
LEGO also reminds you that the latest set will have a dedicated module in the Technic AR app. By pointing the smartphone camera at a complex model, the inquisitive will be able, for example. learn more about individual elements of the NASA machines or the Mars mission itself.
The premiere of the set is scheduled for June 1, just in time for Children’s Day. As for the price, it is 99 dollars, or about 420 zlotys. Currently, several Polish stores pre-release the model for PLN 339, but the usual amount is almost PLN 450.
Interestingly, some YouTubers received a set with a rover a little earlier. So you can already see exactly how the model looks and how it should be folded.
