The current head of Twitter, Elon Musk, announced that he had just hired someone for his position and would soon be stepping down as CEO. The new boss will be a woman, and Musk will focus on other tasks.
After buying Twitter, Elon Musk was only supposed to personally run the platform temporarily, although his time as CEO was extended. Now, however, the billionaire has announced that he has finally managed to find and hire someone to replace him.
Elon Musk steps down as head of Twitter. New female CEO
“I am pleased to announce that I have just hired a new CEO for X/Twitter. She will start her work in about 6 weeks. My role will change and I will become Executive Chairman and Chief Technology Officer. I will be overseeing the product, software and system administration,” Elon Musk tweeted.
It seems that the billionaire thought in advance that a woman would be the boss. At the same time, however, he did not name the new CEO. This caused a real discussion under the billionaire’s statement.
As previously reported by anonymous WSJ informants, Linda Iaccarino, president of the media conglomerate NBCUniversal Media, applied for the position of head of Twitter. Independently, Internet commentators also point to former Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer, former YouTube president Susan Wojcicki, or Musk-owned Neuralink CEO Siobhan Zilis.
Elon Musk will not be the CEO of Twitter - he has long been looking for a replacement
As we wrote in Wprost.pl, in mid-December last year, Elon Musk proposed “elections” on Twitter. Users could vote on whether the billionaire should step down as CEO of the company. The “Yes” option (Musk will leave office) received 57.5% of the vote, and Musk promised to honor the result.
Soon after, the billionaire began to squirm. “No one who can really save Twitter wants to be the CEO. There is no successor,” he wrote. Get back to business in a few days—still defensive, but serious.
“I will step down as CEO of Twitter as soon as I find someone stupid enough to take my place. After that, I will lead the software and servers team,” Elon Musk wrote in a comment under the survey.
The search dragged on for many months, and in February, Musk pervertedly appointed… a shiba inu dog as CEO.
