Google Chrome with an important update. The fix solves a big problem

Must read

Google Chrome is one of the most popular browsers on the market, but it has one big problem compared to its competitors. The application has been using a lot of system resources for many years, including a huge amount of RAM. The latest update aims to change this.

The Google Chrome browser has just received update 110. The update promises several improvements, one of the most anticipated is a reduction in the program’s RAM consumption.

The improvements come in the form of new memory saving and power saving features. As you can see from the names, the first is designed to save RAM, and the second is to minimize the effect of the browser on the battery of the device.

Google Chrome will reduce RAM consumption – what does update 110 change?

Chrome has been extremely greedy for RAM for years, which has even become the subject of memes. However, browser update 110 promises to reduce consumption by up to 30 percent.

Memory Saver is supposed to provide the aforementioned memory savings by deactivating browser tabs running in the background. If the program detects an inactive tab for some time, it will automatically freeze it, which frees up the RAM used to keep the tab running. When we actively click on a tab, Chrome updates its contents.

The user can optionally mark which cards should be excluded from the new feature. This will stop the automatic sleep of pages that we often return to during web browsing sessions.

Chrome Energy Saver Helps Laptop Users

Google promises that the second new Energy Saver feature should cut the program’s battery consumption by up to 20 percent. Of course, this is the most important thing for users of mobile devices, including Chromebooks or laptops.

The battery saver service can turn on automatically when there are 20% left in the cells. or less energy. However, we can also choose to turn on immediately after unplugging.

Energy Saver achieves its savings mainly by limiting background browser activity. It also reduces some visuals and enhancements, for example. smooth scrolling or some animations.
