The Poles are also assembling the Bayraktar drone for the Ukrainian army. The fundraising campaign for this purpose has been very popular lately with amazing results.
After the successful gathering of the Ukrainian comedian and politician Sergei Prytula, the time has come for similar events in Poland. The founder of Krytyka Polityczna, Slavomir Serakovsky, decided to mobilize the Poles again to help war-torn Ukraine. He posted a screenshot, the purpose of which is to buy a Bayraktar TB2 combat drone.
Bayraktar from the Poles for the Ukrainian army
The goal of the action is to collect PLN 22.5 million, which is planned for a month. After the first 12 hours of collection, the account had more than PLN 330,000, and on June 29, by the morning, the amount exceeded PLN 356,000. zloty. The fundraiser admits that the goal is ambitious, but believes in its implementation. If it is not possible to collect the entire amount necessary to purchase a drone from the Turkish company Baykar, the collected money will go to the account of the Fund for Support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The same must happen to each zloty surplus if the collection is successful.
“I believe it will work. We collected over PLN 330,000 in the first 12 hours! 4,000 people responded to the appeal. I don’t know when you’re reading this, but it’s due north and my phone beeps all the time and every beep means someone has contributed – Love! — wrote the author of the screenshot in a post on Facebook. He acknowledged that the Ukrainian media have already become interested in this issue. “I did not expect this, but there is a resonance in Ukraine, where all the major TV channels are preparing a material about our collection on Wednesday (I’m a little scared, I’m very scared … but calm down, I will not embarrass us)” Serakovsky added.
Bayraktar TB2, Turkish war hero in Ukraine
Bayraktar TB2 is a Turkish drone made primarily from carbon composites and aluminium. Its length is 6.5 meters, and the wingspan is 12 meters. It can fly at a maximum speed of 22 km/h, but its average cruising speed is 130 km/h. The maximum altitude at which the Bayraktar TB2 can fly is 8.2 km, but it usually operates at an altitude of 5.5 km. It can stay in the air for up to 27 hours.
– These drones are definitely important in this war. They have already proven their effectiveness in the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh in 2020, that is, the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan. In my opinion, they also have a large share in the victory of the Ukrainian army. They are a symbol of faith in victory and in the equipment that the Ukrainians have. They are an indicator of the technological progress of their army, said General Waldemar Skrzypczak, answering the question why Bayraktar became a symbol of this war. Bayraktar is an excellent weapon, and, fortunately, the Russians have nothing to fight with it, ”he added.
