Maximilian Granechny is considered a great volleyball talent, who today, Saturday, July 8, celebrates his eighteenth birthday. He made his senior volleyball debut for Jastrzębski Węgiel at the age of only 15, making him the youngest rookie in PlusLiga history.

In the previous season, in which Jastrzemski Wengel won the Polish Championship, Maximilian Granechny officially replaced Poland’s representative Jakub Popivchak at the Jastrzebie club. The 18-year-old boy did not have many chances to show his skills. Therefore, the volleyball player decided to change the colors of the club in order to gain experience.
- There are a lot of young players in Kuprum Lubin who got their chances on the field. I believe that I will have them too. I am happy to be able to work under coach Rusk, who was a great libero in the past, says the young player to the club media.
The career of young Maximilian Granechny
The young Libero started his career at JW Talent Academy. - When I played at the Academy, sometimes there were training sessions with PlusLiga players. Once Pavel Rusek came to us and held a training session for the libero. He gave us a lot of advice and improved our technique. It was evident that he was an excellent player with great knowledge of volleyball, - Maximilian recalls in the club press.
For an 18-year-old volleyball player, Granechny has achieved great success. Starting from youth competitions, Max won many medals in the championships of Silesia and Poland in various age categories. He also played in international tournaments representing Poland, and in 2021 he won bronze at the U-17 European Championship, where he was recognized as the best libero of the tournament.
In adult volleyball, he already has a Polish championship, a Polish Super Cup, a Polish Cup silver medal, as well as performances in the Champions League. – I come to Cuprum to hone my volleyball skills. I want to become the best player. I hope that I will make the most of every minute that I can spend on the field, concludes Granechny.
