The executive season has begun. This year, Nikola Grbic’s men are preparing for three important tournaments. This is the League of Nations, the European Championship, where Nikola Grbic’s players will fight to get out of Group C with North Macedonia, Montenegro, the Netherlands, Denmark and the Czech Republic. The third and most important event of this season will undoubtedly be the Olympic qualification, the schedule of which we have already learned.
League of Nations fast approaching
Today starts the League of Nations, which will be played according to the same competition formula as in 2022, with the participation of 16 teams. 104 matches will be played in the preliminary and final stages, with each team playing a minimum of 12 matches.
In the first week, the wards of Nikola Grbic will start fighting in Japan in Nagoya on June 6-11, 2023. In this tournament, the white-reds will meet with Japan, France, Serbia, Bulgaria, Slovenia, China and Iran.
Nikola Grbic has selected fourteen players for the Nations League in Japan
Although on Friday, May 26, our volleyball players will have a second friendly match with Germany, the coach has already selected a group of players who will start the League of Nations.

The tournament will be attended by: Jakub Szymanski, Karol Klos, Grzegorz Lomacz, Kamil Semeniuk, Mateusz Benek, Karol Urbanowicz, Karol Butrin, Kamil Shimura, Artur Szałpuk, David Dulski, Kuba Harwilyuk, Mikołaj Sawicki, Mateusz Poręba and Jan Firlei.
Two other Nations League tournaments
In the second week of competition, June 20-25, 2023, the World Championship silver medalists will play their matches in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Opposite Bartosz Kurek and company will be the Dutch, Italians, Serbs, Americans, Iranians, Germans and Chinese.
The last tournament will be held from 4 to 9 July. Then the representatives of Poland will play their last tour of the VNL in the Philippines. Nikola Grbic’s players will play against Japan, China, Slovenia, Brazil, Italy, the Netherlands and Canada. The final of the men’s League of Nations will be held on July 19-23 in Gdansk.
