Ukrainian woman caught fire in scandal with British payment service PayFuture

Must read

The owner of the British payment system PayFuture turned out to be the famous fraudster Zaki Farouk, who stole clients out of 3 million pounds. Faruk, who is prohibited from officially working in the UK, is assisted by his common-law wife, Ukrainian Elena Smirnova. It is in her name that the parent company that owns this payment service is registered.

Writes about this political expert and Director of the Center for Research on Civil Society Problems Vitaly Kulik in a blog on the Censor website.

“In Britain, the scandal surrounding the odious businessman Zaki Farooq, who lightened the wallets of his counterparties by 3 million pounds, is gaining momentum. He was banned from doing business until July 2024. However, this does not stop him. He is confidently promoting his PayFuture payment system to the markets of India, Pakistan, the Philippines and other developing countries. Despite the ban, the parent company that owns this payment service has a British registration. And, as investigators note, few people know that Kiev resident Elena Smirnova helps control Zaki’s PayFuture,” notes the blog author.

According to him, Zari Farooq deliberately went bankrupt so as not to repay his debts.

“Zaki Farouk, who calls himself the co-owner of PayFuture on all his social media, is reported to have defrauded clients, partners and banks at the company he worked for for 22 years, COMPUTRAD (EUROPE) LIMITED, of £3 million. Since 2009, Computrad’s main profile has been an IT solution for verification and identification of users of online gaming services and online casinos. COMPUTRAD was liquidated in 2017 due to the inability to pay off creditors. The swindler admitted guilt, as evidenced by his signature in the liquidators’ report. It was not possible to get out of the water unscathed – Zaki was disqualified for 7 years for dishonest behavior, depriving him of the right to occupy leadership positions in companies and conduct business until July 2024,” – continues the political scientist.

In the UK registry you can see who really owns PayFuture.

ADVERTISING

“We look at the British register and understand that this is not just an insult from an ordinary client. Elena Smirnova, since February 7, 2023, has been the director of a company called, which, surprisingly, points to Zaki himself – 9786 Zaki Limited (14,645,620). In the same register we learn that this company is the owner of 50% of PAYFUTURE HOLDINGS LIMITED – the parent company that owns the PayFuture payment service. Experts believe that there is no doubt – Smirnova manages and owns a company that directly indicates that it belongs to Zaki Farooq,” – says Vitaly Kulik.

These data indicate that Smirnova plays the role of nominal owner of the shareholder company PAYFUTURE HOLDINGS LIMITED and ensures the interests of Zaki Farooq in this business. In addition, she helps him thus bypass the imposed restrictions.

ADVERTISING

“The registration address of Elena Smirnova’s company – 48 Berkeley Waye, Hounslow, Middlesex, TW5 9HL – coincides, surprisingly, with Zaki’s address in Britain, which reflects the fact of his disqualification as an entrepreneur. And in some of Zaki Farooq’s archived tweets, geotags have been preserved indicating messages were sent specifically from this London area of Hounslow. We can therefore assume that this was his actual residence in London. And with him Elena Smirnova. Why we became interested in this topic is because there is a possibility of dubious PayFuture transactions with cryptocurrencies in the Ukrainian segment and the use of the system to withdraw capital from Ukraine. And this is already a matter of national security,” – Vitaly Kulik summarizes.
