Giampaolo Medei remains at Asseco Resovia
A communiqué was published on the official website of the current PlusLiga leaders, announcing that the Italian coach had extended his contract. It will remain in effect until the end of the 2023/24 season.
“We are happy to extend the contract with Giampaolo. Our team works very well under his leadership. Asseco Resovia is on the path of stabilization and small evolutionary changes. The extension of the contract with the coach is an important element of the strategy we have chosen. I believe, together with the coach, that our team will give the fans of Asseco Resovia many joyful moments at the final stage of the current season,” club president Petr Maciong said in a statement.
Giampaolo Medei could win the Polish championship with Asseco Resovia
There are many successes in the resume of the titled coach. Medey won the CEV Cup with Tours VB, five silver medals with Cucine Lube Civitanova (including Champions League and Club World Cup) and in Turkey he led Ziraat Bankasi Ankara to his first championship. Now fans from Rzeszow expect him to win the title in Resovia as well - the first in the 2014/15 season.
“We all have big ambitions and I hope that at the end of the season we will achieve a satisfactory result. I am sure that the club will do everything to build a very good team and play for the highest goals in Poland and maybe in Europe. The decision to stay in Rzeszow was not difficult for me, because there really is everything a coach needs, ”said Medei himself, who is also pleased with the contract extension.
