I have worked in the news industry for over 10 years. I have been an author at Daily News Hack for the past 1 year. I mostly cover sports news, but I also have a keen interest in current affairs and politics. In my spare time, I enjoy playing tennis and spending time with my family.

Polish jumpers have very weak competition behind them. Judging by the result of the whole team, the competition in Lillehammer on Tuesday was the worst of the entire World Cup season. The ski expert doesn’t bite his tongue and talks directly about Thomas Turnbichler’s shortness of breath.

Polish jumpers have successful individual world championships behind them. Piotr Zhyla and David Kubatsky returned to Poland with medals. However, he was not successful in the team event. The Poles in Planica finished fourth. It is likely that the white-red players will not finish the season on the podium of the Nations Cup. They don’t feel well in Norway.

An expert with a strong opinion on the players of Thomas Turnbichler

Fans are concerned about the situation since the last competition in Lillehammer, where the Poles scored only 39 points in the Nations Cup standings. In an interview with WP SportoweFakty, Rafał Kot, vice president of the Tatra Ski Association and TV expert, looks at other World Cup competitions with great concern. In his opinion, other countries look much better, so the Poles will have to fight not so much for the podium, but to keep the fourth place.

“It doesn’t look good.” In my opinion, the podium of the Nations Cup eluded us. Why? The defeat of the third Slovenia is not big, but Robert Hrgota’s players fly great. It’s hard for me to imagine that we could do better than them with mammoths. We still have to look back. Germany is right behind us, which until recently seemed almost unreal, because Stefan Horngacher’s team has been struggling with more or less problems since the very beginning of the season, said Kot.

Rafał Kot on the problems of Polish ski jumpers

Despite the poor form in recent days, Kot does not want to criticize Thomas Turnbichler. He thinks the Austrian has done a very good job this season. However, he admits that the players are tired. The expert adds that the scale of the hardships of the season and mediocre temper is visible on the scale of the entire team.

– The Poles were out of breath, to be honest. It’s not that one of the competitors fails, almost everyone runs out of fuel. Compared to the world championships, David Kubacki, Piotr Zyla and Kamil Stoch jump worse. I thought that Alexander Znischol would also perform better in competitions, because in the test series he repeatedly proves that he can afford long-distance flights. However, when competition comes, things are not so good, said TZN Vice President.

Poles in the Nations Cup standings in ski jumping

There are eight competitions until the end of the World Cup, including two team competitions. The Austrians are leading in the Nations Cup standings (5164 points). Poland’s fourth team (3767 points) has a 63-point advantage over fifth Germany.
