With a win over Saudi Arabia, Poland have four points to their credit and remain in contention for a place in the play-offs of the World Cup in Qatar. Thanks to the decisions made, the opponents of Byalo-Chervoni also have a chance to leave the group, and we considered scenarios for the promotion of Cheslav Mikhnevich’s wards.
The Poles drew with Mexico at the opening of the tournament in Qatar, and in the second match of the World Cup they won 2-0 against Saudi Arabia. This gives Byalo-Chervona a total of four points and puts them in a good position ahead of the last matchday of the group stage.

World Cup. What needs to happen for Poland to move forward?
In the last round, which will take place on Wednesday, November 30, Poland will play Argentina and Saudi Arabia will play Mexico. We have considered all the possible outcomes of the White-Reds match in order to consider scenarios for our representatives to reach the playoffs of the World Cup.
Scenario 1: Poland defeats Argentina.
A dream result that gives us a solid promotion from the first place in the group and will probably avoid France in the 1/8 finals.
Scenario 2: Poland draw with Argentina.
This result will also give an increase to the white-reds, who will finish the fight in the group with five points on their account. Regardless of the outcome of the second match, Mikhnevich’s wards reached the playoffs. In the event of a victory for Mexico or a draw in the second match, the Poles would come out from the first place.
Scenario 3: Poland loses to Argentina.
A possible defeat will complicate the position of the white-reds, who will have to follow what the national teams of Mexico and Saudi Arabia are doing. If we lose to Albicelesta, and Arabia defeats Mexico, then the Saudis, together with Argentina, will report in 1/8. A draw in the second leg or a victory for Mexico would mean that goal difference would count towards promotion. Thus, Byalo-Chervoni cannot lose big and must count on the result of 0:0 or 1:0 in favor of El Tri in the second match.
