The Polish women’s relay, starting from 4×100 meters, performed poorly in Eugenia 2022. As a result, our runners failed to reach the finals of the World Championships in Athletics.
The night from 22 to 23 July, if we count the Polish time, did not work out for the Polish athletes. On that day, Anna Kelbasinska, among others, participated in the competition, but she did not qualify for the final, and Piotr Lisek performed even worse, not even passing the qualifying round - for the first time in nine years. Unfortunately, the Polish national team performed just as unsuccessfully in the women’s relay, starting at a distance of 4×100 meters.
World Athletics Championship. Polish 4×100 relay failed
This is a disappointing result, because for a number of reasons, the fans had the right to hope not for a medal, but at least for entering key competitions. As a person, Eva Svoboda is in her life form, and recently Martina Kotvila and Marika Popović-Drapala have also succeeded. The Byalo-Chervonykh Quartet was completed by Magdalena Stefanovich. However, even with such a strong line-up, the Poles failed to reach the finals of the World Championships in Athletics.
First, the changes failed because that’s where our reps lost a lot of time, which they actually caught up with during the sprints. To qualify for the finals they needed to perfect every element of the race, so in the end Svoboda, Kotvila, Popovic-Drapala and Stefanovic only finished in sixth place with a time of 43.19 seconds.
Eugene 2022. Such a result would give the Poles a promotion
Interestingly, it was the fastest Polish women’s race in 12 years and a bronze medal at the European Championships in Barcelona. Dreaming of reaching the final, Byalo-Chervone should have almost equaled the record of our country reached at that time, which was 42.68 seconds. In Eugene, the shares delivered a time set by the Swiss team of 42.73 seconds.
