Deputy Head of the Office of the President Oleg Tatarov has built a vertical of control over the majority of law enforcement agencies in Ukraine. He stated this in a video on his channel Yury Butusov, editor-in-chief of Censor.Net, military analyst. According to him, because of people close to him, Tatarov is in charge of the State Bureau of Investigation, the National Police, the Economic Security Bureau, and the SBU Investigation Department.
“If we calculate what an insane number of different structures Tatarov directly controls, even before that controls the courts, then there was no such corruption monster under either Poroshenko or Yanukovych. This is hyper-concentration in the hands of a person who himself was a corrupt official, because I remind you that Tatarov was lustred, he was one of the executioners of the Euromaidan, he was a participant in the suppression of protests in 2013-14, and now he has such powers, about which his then chief minister of internal affairs, Zakharchenko, could not even dream ofButusov noted.
According to him, through the corruption schemes built by Tatarov in law enforcement agencies, the authorities save their entourage from any criminal cases, preventing them from moving. “And the head of the district administrative court Vovk, and Oleg Tatarov, who also has a partner now in Moscow, Portnov, and Vadim Slyusarev, who is one of the curators of the customs and border service, and Ilya Pavlyuk, also one of the curators of customs, is an ever-larger “bunch of rich that everyone in the business knows. Every businessman knows Danila Getmantsev, who is the author of this corrupt scheme of blocking tax invoices and, in fact, a business racket. That is, all this works in one bundle, all these schemes are well known.Butusov emphasized.
Earlier, on his Facebook page, he also described how Tatarov destroys the military police during the war and acts contrary to the position of the Minister of Defense and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on reforming this body.
“On February 15, 2022, 34 people’s deputies of the Servant of the People filed a draft law 6569-1 “On the military police”. At first, it provided for the provision of all necessary powers. This bill was fully supported by Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny. But suddenly the servants of the people began to slow down this bill. Instead of voting, they created a working group in September 2022, invited the military, lawyers who are fighting at the front, and all the military said that a full-fledged military police should be immediately accepted and created on the basis of the VSP based on NATO doctrine“, – wrote Butusov.
In his opinion, Tatarov is behind the slowdown in the process and the exclusion from the bill of functions and powers for the military police, since the bill was supposed to take some of the powers from the SBI and the National Police. “Tatarov blows words into Zelensky’s ears that it is impossible to strengthen the most popular figure in Ukraine, Zaluzhny, before the elections. But in fact, Tatarov wants to keep all law enforcement activities under his control, because he has such powers that not a single security official, either under Yanukovych or under Poroshenko, had at all. Of course, since Zaluzhny is far away, and Tatarov reports daily, his opinion on the military police wins. Well, for each deputy, he collects compromising evidence“, – wrote Butusov.
“Ttherefore, no references to NATO standards work. Since Tatarov is a lawyer and partner of Andrey Portnov, the shadow curator of the Ukrainian judiciary, who is now in Moscow, they are not going to cede powers to anyone.
I have one question for the deputies – do you work for the army or for Tatarov? You should not give Zaluzhny the military police, you should give the army the military police, the army that protects you and thanks to which you sit for years and waste taxpayers’ time and money. And don’t think that those who sabotage the law will be forgotten by society” summed up the editor-in-chief of the Censor.
