Ex-adviser to the head of the OP Arestovich became a defendant in criminal proceedings by the police

On November 16, a criminal case was opened against former adviser to the Office of the President of Ukraine Alexei Arestovich.

This was reported by “Public” with reference to sources in law enforcement agencies.

The fact of opening criminal proceedings was confirmed by the National Police, clarifying that this was done following an appeal from a group of people’s deputies.

The application was received by the Shevchenko police department.

Deputies reported a possible criminal offense of falsely reporting a crime.

Arestovich was accused of filing a statement with the State Bureau of Investigation about the commission of a crime by a people’s deputy.

Investigators initiated criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Art. 383 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – knowingly false information about the commission of a criminal offense.

Let us recall that in September, Arestovich, through the court, ordered the State Bureau of Investigation to open criminal proceedings against MP Natalia Pipa. We are talking about an incident that occurred in the summer in Lviv.

Then a minor street musician performed a song by Viktor Tsoi. Natalya Pipa, who was passing by, reacted to this. At her request to stop singing in the language of the occupier, the musician reacted aggressively, so the deputy called the police and wrote a statement. Law enforcement officers drew up an administrative report on petty hooliganism.

Later, the musician published a video in which he apologized for the profanity. Subsequently, the Galitsky District Court of Lvov found him guilty of petty hooliganism and limited himself to a warning.

Arestovich then recorded an appeal in Russian, in which he supported the street musician, noting that the guy had the right to sing and should not have apologized.

By the way, this is already the second proceeding against Alexey Arestovich. In particular, according to People’s Deputy Inna Sovsun, on October 13, 2023, the police began a pre-trial investigation into Arestovich’s sexist statements during one of his seminars.
