Must read

The self-proclaimed head of Belarus, Lukashenko, who recently threatened Ukraine, allowed the military to use firearms, special weapons, military and special equipment against the civilian population. The Belarusian dictator signed a decree. As Belsat reports, Lukashenko signed decree No. 37 “On introducing amendments and additions to the decrees of the President of the Republic of Belarus.”

“Military personnel have the right to use physical force, special means, combat and special equipment, as well as weapons, taking into account the situation, the nature of the crime and the administrative offense,” – the decree says.

The person against whom the weapon may be used is enclosed in the decree, “must be advised of this possibility and given time to comply with the requirements of the law”. Exceptions are made in cases where “delay creates an immediate threat to the life of the military personnel or other citizens or may lead to other serious consequences.”

If a weapon is used, the serviceman is obliged to provide assistance to the wounded.

This case was also brought to the attention of the independent media project “Belarusian Gayun,” which monitors the movement of troops and weapons on the territory of Belarus. As reported, according to the new decree, a soldier will be able to use firearms against a citizen without being held responsible for the injuries or death of the civilian.

“In recent years, Lukashenka’s security forces and military have repeatedly used weapons against Belarusians, which has led to serious injuries and sometimes even death,” – reminds “Belarusian Gayun”.

In 2020, protester Gennady Shutau was killed in Brest. As it later turned out, he was shot in the back of the head by Special Operations Forces captain Roman Gavrilov.
