In Poland, the state of epidemic threat is extended. Why won’t the WHO stop the pandemic?

Must read

The state of epidemic threat in Poland is extended until the end of April, according to a draft resolution prepared by the Ministry of Health. Is there any chance that the World Health Organization will end the pandemic?

The state of the epidemic threat in Poland ends on March 31, but it is already known that it will be extended until the end of April (previously, the deadlines were even until the end of September). April 30 is the date that appears in the “Draft Resolution of the Council of Ministers on Amendments to the Resolution on the Establishment of Certain Restrictions, Orders and Prohibitions in Connection with the Emergency in Connection with the Epidemic”.

What does the extension of the state of epidemic threat mean?

so called covid regulation means certain restrictions. Even in hospitals, clinics and pharmacies, you must cover your mouth and nose. The Ministry of Health explains the need to extend the restrictions for a large number of new cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection and the number of medical services (including in a hospital) provided to people infected with this virus. The list of reasons also includes a large number of cases of infection with the influenza virus, which, according to the authors of the resolution, is a factor that may adversely affect the health of the population.

When will the WHO cancel the pandemic?

– I believe that it is too early to talk about the endemicity of COVID-19. The situation is starting to stabilize, but SARS-CoV-2 cannot be treated like the flu or the common cold, said virologist Prof. Agnieszka Schuster-Ciesielska in an interview with PAP. Referring to the accusation that the WHO was quick to declare a pandemic but was in no hurry to cancel it, she explained that in the face of the emergence of an unknown threat around the world, it is necessary to respond quickly. “On the other hand, to stop a pandemic, you need to be sure that prevention and medicines are widely available, and the situation with infections is stable. Therefore, I believe that WHO is approaching this issue very reasonably and responsibly,” the expert assessed.

prof. Schuster-Czyzelska pointed out that the biggest threat, in addition to the pandemic itself, was misinformation, which, according to the specialist, contributed to many deaths due to the refusal of vaccinations and proper treatment.
