People’s Deputy of Ukraine Andrey Nikolaenko confirmed information about a fatal accident in which he became a participant in the Zhytomyr region.
“Unfortunately it’s true. Today the worst thing that can happen to a driver happened to me – a person died under the wheels of the car I was driving. You already know all the circumstances of the incident from media reports… I assure you that I will contribute in every possible way to the investigative actions that the DBI is currently conducting and will voluntarily undergo all the necessary examinations.” – he said on his page on social networks and added that he was driving sober and did not violate traffic rules, but the tragedy could not be avoided.
“A huge grief has happened that can no longer be rewinded or undone. True despair is when you cannot influence the situation in any way. My most sincere condolences to the family. I don’t know what else to say…” – writes Nikolaenko.
The DBI, which is investigating the circumstances of a fatal traffic accident involving a people’s deputy, notes that the issue of entering information into the ERDR on the grounds of a criminal offense, Part 2 of Art. 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
“The event happened on the Kiev-Chop highway near the village of Berezovka, Zhytomyr region, at about ten in the morning on November 3, 2023. A car driven by a people’s deputy ran over a pedestrian. A minor girl died from her injuries at the scene of the incident,” – the message says.
