  • Boys pays tribute Supernatural with references such as the use of classic rock songs and iconic footage showcasing Kripke’s love for his former hit series.

It’s no secret that recently there has been some kind of crossover between Supernatural And Boys. After all, these two series have the same creator, and although they are very different from each other, Eric Kripke made sure to include plenty of references to his original hit series in his latest series. Of all the shows that deconstruct the superhero genre, Boys probably the most provocative and definitely pushes all the boundaries that exist in the fictional universe. But don’t worry Supernatural Fans, because there’s plenty of material here for you too, as Kripke made sure to include a treasure trove of Easter eggs for your enjoyment and enjoyment.

Certainly, Supernatural co-director Jensen eventually joined Boys as Soldier Boy, a far cry from his work as Dean Winchester, leading to an exciting creative reunion between Ackles and Kripke. “There is little Supernatural Easter eggs in several scenes with Jensen,” Kripke explained immediately after the show’s third season premiered. “When you think about the number of people on this show’s creative team who came from Supernatural… …we kind of couldn’t help but add some stuff because this show was a huge part of our lives.”

The Kid from Supernatural Returns to Shoot Down More Baddies in The Boys

Probably the most iconic object of all Supernatural The universe must be the Winchesters’ trademark Impala, which Dean affectionately calls “Baby.” The ’67 Chevy had been in the family for decades and was something of an unofficial third character on the show for fifteen seasons. It’s no surprise that Kripke developed a real affinity for muscle cars, which eventually made a cameo appearance in the series. Boys. Unlike the appearance of the Impala on Winchestersit’s not so much a part Boysmythology, although it has some weight in its own right.

After Stormfront (Aya Cash) is exposed as a white supremacist, the Internet (which was once completely on her side) quickly turns against her. In the Season 2 finale, “What Do I Know,” a video can be seen on social media of a 1967 Chevy Impala speeding through Stormfront because of her Nazi sympathies. What might be considered just a fun reference to Kripke’s former show actually means a lot more when you consider that Dean Winchester actually killed Hitler in Supernatural Season 12 episode “The One You’ve Been Waiting For” makes this feel just perfect. And let’s not forget that this somewhat foreshadows the appearance of Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy—whose January 24 procedure date coincides with Dean’s birthday, as well as Kripke’s wife’s birthday—next season.

Bobby Singer from Supernatural went from unsuccessful hunter to Secretary of Defense in The Boys

Jensen Ackles isn’t the only one Supernatural alum will appear on Boys; there is also Robert Singer – no, not that one Supernatural producer with the same name but another Bobby Singer, played by none other than Jim Beaver myself. First appearing at the end of the first season, Beaver returned as Secretary of Defense Robert Singer in a number of episodes in subsequent seasons, although he is nothing like the Winchesters’ surrogate father.

Given that Supernatural confirmed that Chuck (Rob Benedict) created a multiverse full of possibilities (with various Sams and Deans to boot), this has led some to speculate that politician Robert Singer might just be an alternate universe version of the Bobby we all know and love. Eventually, an alternate Bobby from Apocalypse World was introduced towards the end. Supernaturaland given that BoysSinger’s version also comes from Sioux Falls, South Dakota (the same place where Bobby lived). Supernatural), this seems like a real possibility.

REO Speedwagon resonates more in The Boys than in Supernatural

One of the things that Supernatural was especially known during its time on the air for its classic rock soundtrack. Icons such as AC/DC, Blue Oyster Cult, Styx, Jethro Tull, Def Leppard and Bob Seger played regularly on the series, and the Kansas song “Carry On Wayward Son” was even the show’s unofficial official theme. So when REO Speedwagon’s “I Can’t Fight This Feeling Anymore” came on, Boys In the episode “Here Comes a Candle to Light You in Bed” filled with a nasty moment brought to you by Ackles’ Soldier Boy himself, fans couldn’t help but remember the episode. Supernatural.

In Kripke’s first hit series, the song “I Can’t Fight This Feeling Anymore” appears in the Season 2 episode “Simon Said” after heartthrob Jo Harwell (Alona Tal) plays a track on the jukebox at Roadhouse. Not only does this highlight the unspoken attraction between them (which will never be fully realized), but Dean even sings along with Sam and him (Jared Padalecki) leave the shelter for work. You can get Kripke out Supernatural, but you can’t take the Winchester from Kripke. Something like that.

The famous shot from Supernatural reappears in The Boys

For fifteen seasons Supernatural It wasn’t often that he revisited iconic images from his past, but when he did, it meant something. One such moment occurs at the end of the two-part season two finale, “All Hell Breaks Loose”, where Sam and Dean close the trunk of the Impala and Dean utters the words “we have work to do.” To signify their ongoing struggle against the forces of darkness, the same combination of footage and lines is repeated at the end of the 200th episode of Fanfiction. Not surprising Boys did Supernatural the barrel fired on its own.

Actually, Boys did this more than once, which makes sense considering that previous Supernatural director Phil Sgriccia (who also directed Fan Fiction) followed Kripke into his new Amazon project. Moreover, the official X account (formerly Twitter) even quoted the relevant information. Supernatural line verbatim. However, this was not the only time, later on the official Instagram of the series the phrase was quoted as saying: “There’s a Winchester in that trunk, but it’s not the type you’re thinking of,” coupled with a similar image (this is one of them, among others). “Soldier Boy” by Eccles). Even if you’re not looking Boysyou can’t help but appreciate a callback like this.

Dean Winchester may have fired a grenade launcher in Supernatural, but Soldier Boy failed to ignite in The Boys.

One of the worst jokes SupernaturalIn recent years (and especially throughout Season 12), Dean has always wanted to use a grenade launcher. So, after a season of pestering Sam, his brother finally gives in in a life-or-death scenario and Dean uses the gun to blow a hole in the wall and save their lives (“Who We Are”). Years later, in the final season, Dean appears with a grenade launcher again in “Last Holiday”, implying that yes, he managed to use it at least one more time.

So when Soldier Boy upgraded to the Car G. missile launcher in Boys episode “Barbary Coast” fans were delighted. To make things even more hysterical, Soldier Boy points the damn thing the wrong way and, like Dean in the beginning, is unable to fire the huge weapon, which he’s too excited to use. Though it probably worked out for the best and ended up being a fun nod to Dean’s own struggles with guns later in Supernaturalran. At least Dean finally got a chance to use his weapon and Soldier Boy never returned to him.

Since he couldn’t kill them in Supernatural, Eric Kripke was sure he would kill the nun in The Boys.

IN Boys In the episode “Here Comes a Candle to Light You in Bed”, the soldier boy, who is not so different from his son Homelander after all, kills a priest and a nun, something Dean would never do. Supernatural. Well, unless they were possessed. But even so, the Winchesters usually fought for every person’s life, so taking someone away is not something they would do lightly. But this brutal moment is actually a deeper callback to Kripke’s time. Supernaturalespecially when he was forced to deal with a group of nuns off-screen in the Season 4 finale, “Lucifer Rising.”

“When I was a little kid, I thought, ‘If only I could get to Hollywood and kill some nuns,'” Kripke joked during an interview when asked about the connection between the events. All jokes aside, there was no way TV censors would allow Kripke to make a brutal horror show that featured a fight between the series’ signature “Yellow-Eyed Demon” and a group of nuns huddled in St. Mary’s Convent, but here’s streaming, there are no rules.

Familiar faces from Supernatural return in The Boys (and not just Jensen Ackles)

Jensen Ackles and Jim Beaver are probably the most obvious faces to give up. Supernatural To Boysbut they are certainly not the only ones. Alexander Calvert (Jack Klein on Supernatural) appears as Rufus in Boys spin off generation V and even reunites with Kate Dunlap Maddie Phillips. Phillips previously played Harper Sayles in SupernaturalSeason 14 episode “Optimism”. Besides, Jeffrey Dean Morganwho played Sam and Dean’s father John Winchester, and Rob Benedict (who played Chuck Shirley) are going to make their Boy debut in season 4.

But that is not all. In addition to the ever-growing list of names associated with both shows, Boys returned once Supernatural guest star Gattlin Griffith, who once played Jesse Turner, aka the Antichrist, in Kripke’s long-running series. On BoysGriffith plays Soldier Boy’s assistant Gunpowder, or at least the younger version, which is perhaps the more interesting role. Given that SupernaturalWhile Antichrist was never fully developed, it’s nice to see Griffith still getting work in Kripke’s circles.

Boys is available to stream exclusively on Prime Video, and Supernatural can be watched on Netflix.
