• Bosch is no longer bound by LAPD rules, giving him the creative freedom to go “wild” in his revenge for finding his kidnapped daughter in Bosch: Legacy.
  • This season features the most intense and action-packed scenario Bosch has ever faced as he tries to find Maddie without the department’s resources.
  • New circumstances force Bosch to be active, desperate and emotional, as a result of which the hero goes beyond boundaries and acts in ways we have never seen before.

Harry Bosch (English)Titus Welliver) returns to our screens in Bosch: Legacyseries based on the author’s novels Michael Connolly, but this time everything is different. When we last saw our favorite private investigator, who was still enjoying his retirement from the Los Angeles Police Department, he wandered into his daughter’s apartment only to find Maddie (Madison Lintz) went missing and was kidnapped.

This chain of events led to Bosch first going on the hunt for Maddie, who had been “freed” by the law, and as part of the promotion for season two, I spoke with two of the show’s creatives: Tom Bernardo And Henrik Bastinabout Bosch’s rage and the creative freedom he has gained from being freed from the shackles of LAPD rules as he hunts Maddie’s kidnapper. Bernardo was delighted at the opportunity to deprive Bosch of resources and allow him to go almost wild in his revenge.

“Well, I think it was exciting from a story perspective for both Michael and the team after writing the script for this character to be in this kind of LAPD facility, right? So, in Heritage, you can give him new, fresh story circumstances and he can start to cross the line if the story warrants it,” Bernardo said. “But from your point of view, Chris, this is the most heightened and intense scenario that this character has ever gone through, and so it was interesting for us as writers to put him there, and also to put him there at his most powerless, because he’s no longer part of the department and can’t use those resources, he’s on the outside looking in, but not the kind of character who’s going to sit around and wait for the cops to call him with the news.

“So he had to be active, desperate, contain his emotions where he could, but at the same time overcome them at times. So we were going to watch it, and it was interesting for us, and I hope the audience will be interested in seeing it.” to see a very heightened scenario and see our hero in a way we’ve never seen him before, emotionally, crossing boundaries. Again, a whole new Harry Bosch.”

Bastin agreed and admitted that he was excited to introduce a new scenario and circumstances, as well as offer the character a new way to solve a case – while he is not bound by the LAPD’s rulebook, he also can no longer depend on the resources the department has to offer, which puts He has his own tasks ahead of him.

“And again, from Tom’s point of view: yes, he is relaxed, he can do anything, but he also understands that being inside this institution, which he hated at times, also has its advantages. You can do things that you can’t do as a private citizen. You don’t have access to a lot of things and you’re on the outside, and I think that’s how he feels. I think that’s built into him as a character this season. “He’s slowly realizing, as I think a lot of retirees realize, ‘This might not be quite what I was hoping for,’ and that he’s actually missing out on some things that you take for granted when you’re on the inside.”

Bosch: Legacy airs on Amazon Freevee every Friday from October 20th to November 10th. Our guide to the series can be found here.
