The Pechersky District Court of Kyiv gave permission to arrest two ministers of the presidency of Viktor Yanukovych, who had previously been declared suspected of treason and put on the wanted list.
According to the Office of the Prosecutor General, in April 2010, the suspects, by prior agreement by a group of people with the former president and prime minister of Ukraine, agreed to extend the stay of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Crimea. We are talking about the so-called “Kharkov agreements”.
“As a result of such actions, in April 2010, an Agreement was signed and ratified, which extended the stay of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine for 25 years. This created favorable conditions for the further re-equipment and modernization of the weapons of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, as well as its increase in the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, instead of withdrawing from Ukraine,” - the message says.
The suspects are hiding from the pre-trial investigation outside the territory of Ukraine. The court decision allows the prosecution to initiate the procedure for their extradition.
In the OG, referring to Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, they do not name the names of former diggers, because “a person is considered innocent of a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in court.”
However, it is known that in these years the positions of Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Justice of Ukraine were held by Konstantin Grishchenko (from March 11, 2010 to December 24, 2012) and Oleksandr Lavrynovych (from March 11, 2010 to June 4, 2013), respectively.
Recall that under the same article, the suspicion was announced to the former Minister of Defense of Ukraine Mikhail Yezhel.
