He’s just Ken, and that’s okay! ahead BarbieBarbie’s upcoming worldwide theatrical debut, a new teaser has been released that gives us a fresh look at the platinum blonde Barbie. That’s right, Ken, played by Ryan Goslingstar of the newest Barbie teaser. The latest trailer shows Gosling performing “I’m Just Ken”, an ode to doll companion’s self-esteem issues, and gives us a closer look at the much-touted summer blockbuster. Barbie releases in theaters on July 21, 2023, a weekend that promises to be explosive at the box office.
“I just don’t know who I am without you,” Ken cries at the beginning of the new teaser. “You’re Ken,” Barbie replies, pleading with him in the middle of what sounds like a breakup. “But it’s a Barbie And Ken,” he continues, “there is no just Ken.” The footage draws on Ken’s insecurities related to the film’s tagline “She’s everything, he’s just Ken”, before cutting to Ken performing his song “I’m Just Ken”. footage of his adventures and those of Barbie. The trailer showcases all of Ken’s hard work and his invisible struggles as he pedals on a two-man bike or flies away in a spacesuit as Barbie explores the skies. Hey, it can’t be easy being Barbie number two!

But one thing the new trailer makes clear is that the new movie will have you exploring an otherwise often overlooked Ken. New Barbie The film is one of the most anticipated films of the year. Based on the iconic line of dolls of the same name, the film aims to show us a completely different side of the dolls that have brought so many children to life. The exact details of the film’s plot have yet to be made public, but some of the themes have come out thanks to the film’s extensive and heavy publicity. Ken’s role as the otherwise neglected superpowered Barbie’s companion has been a recurring theme in the film’s promotion, and it looks like he’ll be getting an entire musical number to vent his frustrations on.

The film is the latest project Greta Gerwigformerly in charge Lady Bird and 2019 adaptation Small woman. Gerwig directed Barbie and co-wrote the screenplay with Noah Baumbach.
