She plays the role of the perfect, simpler version of Jacob throughout the film, as an equally beautiful girl that Jacob could have easily fallen in love with if not for his longtime love for Anna. Lawrence plays the role down to the smallest detail, and even though he’s not a main character, he still has a huge impact on the story and the audience.
8 The Hunger Games (2012)

Based on a bestseller for young adults. The Hunger Games Set in a dystopian far future in the ruins of what was once North America, ruled by the new nation of Panem. The ruling government and Panem’s upper class are starting an annual tradition where they make a boy and girl from each of the twelve districts fight to the death in a televised event. Stepping in to save her sister from this fate, District 12’s Katniss Everdeen will have to rise if she ever has a chance at surviving the perilous Hunger Games.
Original The Hunger Games launched a massive modern franchise and launched a new wave of youth franchises due to its massive success and legacy. A major key factor in its success can be attributed to Lawrence’s lead role as Katniss, which helped bring to life an outstanding female role model for the younger generation.
7 ‘Road’ (2022)

dam is an original Apple TV+ movie that tells the story of Linsey, an American soldier who faces day-to-day traumatic brain injury caused by an IED blast in Afghanistan. The trauma forced her to return home, and although she struggles to maintain her daily life with her mother, she soon forms a strong emotional bond with James, a man who shares a similar trauma.
Causeway was one of the most underrated dramas of 2022, starring both Lawrence and Brian Tyree Henry this is one of the best performances of the year.
The two share a deep and caring friendship and on-screen chemistry together that so rarely comes out in such a deeply emotional and open manner, but is handled with such honesty that it works wonders.
6 “X-Men: First Class” (2011)

Then a semi-reboot, semi-prequel X-Men franchise, X-Men: First Class sees the initial creation and first iteration of the X-Men team. Then friends Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr scour and build a team of mutants both familiar and brand new to stop a villain who threatens the safety of the entire world.
Lawrence portrays a younger version of the iconic character Mystique, a powerful blue-skinned werewolf with the ability to mimic and transform his appearance into anyone. While the character was already a fan-favorite villain in the original X-Men trilogy, Lawrence and First Class took the character to new heights with a more detailed backstory to create one of the best characters in the franchise.
5 X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014)

X-Men: Days of Future Past aims to combine the prequel and modern X-Men storylines to create a tense time-travel action thriller in which Wolverine travels through time to prevent an impending robot apocalypse. He meets with a past version of Charles Xavier, hoping to enlist his help in stopping a murder that will eventually lead to the destruction of all mutants.
Lawrence goes on to portray Mystique in the film, who, following the success of her performance in First Class, has received much more attention and the importance of the stakes of this sequel. The story and her character development reach a turning point during this entry, and Lawrence’s consistently great portrayal is one of the many reasons the film is so loved by fans and critics alike.

Lawrence’s performance in this film is iconic and one of the most beloved of her career, and the performance even earned her an Academy Award for Best Actress.

Lawrence plays the role of Rosalynn Rosenfeld, the wife of master con artist Irving Rosenfeld (played by Christian Bale). On top of the many layers and difficulties that Irving faces throughout the film, his deteriorating relationship with his wife is a major recurring problem looming over him, and Lawrence does an amazing job of bringing that chaos to life. This is another of Lawrence’s most iconic performances, earning her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.

Before her roles in blockbuster franchises or her roles in top dramas competing for Best Picture, winter bone was the little indie movie that made Jennifer Lawrence famous in the eyes of many. The film earned her her first nomination for an Academy Award for Leading Actress as she demonstrated an unparalleled range and talent in one of her first major film roles. Although, as viewers will soon find out, this film was only the beginning of Lawrence’s cult career.
