It was a dark time to be Friday the 13th fan. However, with a lawsuit between the director Sean S. Cunningham and writer Victor Miller Finally summing up, Jason Voorhees saw a much-needed light at the end of the tunnel. There is already a new series-prequel “Peacock” crystal lake on the way and a film from Cunningham in the early stages of development. Now there is also a new Friday the 13th arrival video and composer franchise Harry Manfredini comes back to evaluate the project.
This comes exclusively from RelyOnHorror, who interviewed Manfredini during a recent Crystal Lake reunion in Blairstown, NJ, at the campsite where the original movie was filmed. The main topic of conversation was the composer’s participation in the critically acclaimed 2017 horror film. Friday the 13th: Game. It was an extremely entertaining asymmetrical multiplayer mode where players had to try to survive the night at Camp Crystal Lake, with one lucky player getting the chance to take control of Jason himself. During their conversation, Manfredini revealed that a new unannounced Friday the 13th The game is in development but will not be a sequel to the 2017 game and is being developed by other developers. This new game will have “more realistic” character models and will not be an asymmetrical multiplayer game. Manfredini was unable to reveal what style the game would take, whether it would be a single player focused experience or another form of multiplayer, but just knowing the other Friday the game is on the way, should be enough to excite fans of this slasher series. It also makes sense that Gun Interactive will not be returning for this latest game as they are currently hard at work making their next horror game based on The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Bye halloween And A Nightmare on Elm Street may have had a more enduring legacy, there is no horror franchise quite as popular as Friday the 13th. What Michael Myers and Leatherface created in the 70s, Jason made mainstream and cool in the 80s. Whether it’s this slasher’s summery aesthetic, a memorable villain, or brutal murders, no one has killed him quite like Jason. It also has a lot to do with Manfredini’s music, which is just as iconic as the franchise’s gory madness.
What’s next Friday the 13th?
The franchise hasn’t had a single movie since the underrated 2009 remake due to the previously mentioned lawsuit, but this gore-soaked slasher has remained relevant to pop culture thanks to the 2017 game and the passion of its fans. Finally it looks Friday the 13th the new Peacock series is finally coming to an end, expected to be released in 2024.
