It seems that crime never stops, and in a dangerous world there are people brave enough to stop mysterious cases. Toronto Law & Order: Criminal Intent will be the latest addition to the ever-expanding franchise, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Ten episodes have been ordered by NBC and are scheduled to film later this year. With production on schedule, the new show is expected to hit television around the world sometime next year. There are currently no actors attached to the project, which leaves the door open to many opportunities for talent to get involved.

The upcoming show will join the original Law and order series in the current cable landscape. Since 1990, the franchise’s main series has run for over twenty seasons on television, bringing criminals to justice in a cold drama set in New York City. Jack McCoy And Caroline McCormick were among the most regular cast members, and after two decades of history, many celebrities have appeared in guest roles. On top of this, the main characters of the story were swapped in order to allow for flexibility in the production of the show. New York is safe when the detectives can be seen with the iconic theme song playing in the background.

Not all Law and order Spin-offs Work

While waiting for the new Toronto Law & Order: Criminal Intent may be high, it would be wise to remember that not all franchise expansion attempts have been successful projects. For example, Jury trial And Los Angeles did not live to see their first seasons. It remains to be seen if the new series will manage to assemble a strong cast that can run the story for years to come, setting the stage for more seasoned detectives to expand on the project’s legacy.
