As we continue to live through Jennifer Coolidge revival, fans will surely miss her in the upcoming third season White Lotus. The series, which helped usher in a new era for the actress, saw her character, Tanya, die at the end of the second season, foiling a plot orchestrated by her husband to kill her, only to fall overboard and drown. While Tanya’s story has sadly come to an end, Coolidge is hopeful that the show with her husband isn’t over yet and shares his hopes for the hit season 3. HBO show.
As part of Variety’s “Actors on Actors” series, Coolidge spoke with Bear actor Jeremy Allan White. During a discussion about the couple, Coolidge revealed that her “hope for John [Gries, who plays Tanya’s husband Greg] in that he didn’t finish” with the show. She further added, “I hope there will be some kind of retribution for the evil Greg. I think he should, I don’t know, end up in a meat grinder. Although one of the most touching aspects of the first season White Lotus was going to see Tanya, a single woman with more money than she knew what to do, mourning the loss of her mother, find love with Greg, at the beginning of the second season, it became obvious that this relationship had soured. The season ended with Greg hiring a group of gay men to kill Tanya in a scene that set off a thousand memes in an attempt to pocket a large fortune for her. After killing her captors, Tanya - in typical Tanya fashion - then died trying to escape.
Filming the scene left a mark on the actress’ life: she added that she would “never get on a boat again,” going on to say, “I was scared because we were filming it in order, hanging out with the guys. really. I really enjoyed killing them all.” Of how the dramatic climax came, Coolidge said:Mike [White, showrunner] was looking for a big finale for an Italian opera and it was big and dramatic so he wanted me to die for many reasons.” She added, “But I also think Tanya has a lot. Greg might be back
Although Coolidge may be done with White Lotus, she hopes that in the third season, Greg will receive retribution, saying, “If Tanya could come back in any form, maybe she could come back as a seagull and gouge out Greg’s eyes.” Bye White Lotus changes location and most of the cast with each season (the upcoming season is confirmed to take place in Thailand), Tanya was the liaison between seasons 1 and 2. Since the character appears in both seasons, it’s possible that season 3 could continue Greg’s story. .
