Nobody loves inspiring stories like Dennis Quaid. In the last few years alone, it has appeared in a variety of uplifting titles such as long game, On the wing and prayer, American underdogAnd blue wonder with each title reflecting the human spirit overcoming insurmountable obstacles. The trailer for Quaid’s latest tearful drama has arrived today. Blending his love of sports movies with the incredible true story of a young man destined to become a baseball player, Hill sees Quaid as a father who wants the best for his child, carefully believing in him every step of the way.
Briarcliff Entertainment’s trailer introduces viewers to Ricky Hill (Colin Ford), a young man with a strong passion for baseball, but whose physical disability prevents him from being taken seriously. When we see him grow into a teenager, it becomes clear that the young man has real athletic ability and can make something of himself. Unfortunately, his ruthless devotion to the game leads to a deterioration in his condition that his father and mother (Joel Carter, grounded) are of increasing concern. Not wanting to give up so easily, Ricky pushes forward and, against all odds, finds his place on the field by playing the greats.
The cast also includes a country singer. Randy Houser, Scott Glenn (urban cowboy), And Bonnie Bedelia (Parenthood). While it doesn’t look like Quaid’s banner in Bonnydale is related to the film’s production, we do know the actor has a soft spot in his heart when he endorses anything with a religious aspect, which the teaser is for. Hill shows that there will be a lot of it. And while we love the first look as much as we love the next one, the teaser seems to present the entire film as a one-minute clip, fully revealing Hill’s inspiring journey.
