The court denied Cher custody of her adult son

Must read

Caring for her adult son, Cher filed an application for guardianship over him. But the court, apparently, sees the matter differently. According to US media reports, a judge denied temporary custody of her adult son.

The singer and actress took legal action because she feared large payments to Elijah Blue Allman from the trust fund of his late father, musician Gregg Allman, could put him in danger. The 47-year-old musician had problems with drugs in the past.

However, according to media reports, the Los Angeles Superior Court judge was not convinced that custody was an urgent need. She rejected Cher’s statement. According to the American magazine People, the court ruled that Allman had proven that he “keeps his finances under control,” has an apartment and “does not use drugs.” A new hearing is scheduled to take place in March.

Allman was reportedly in the courtroom with his lawyers. According to People, they considered his previous problems but said he was doing well now.

Cher’s lawyers argued that given her son’s “ongoing” problems, she was concerned that any money paid to Elijah would be immediately spent on drugs, which would put his property and life at risk. Cher’s son and his legal team have repeatedly said that none of this is true since the custody petition was filed.

Elijah Blue Allman was born in Cher’s marriage to musician Gregg Allman. They married in 1975 and divorced in 1979. In addition to his 47-year-old son, Cher has another child, Cheza Bono, from his marriage to Sonny Bono. The couple was married from 1964 to 1975.

As FACTS wrote, Cher was previously accused of organizing the kidnapping of her own son.
