Most films have a few bloopers and mistakes; this is inevitable when working on a huge set of hundreds of people and dozens of locations. More often than not, these errors are barely noticeable and do not disrupt the viewer’s immersion in the story.
However, some nonsense is so big that it stands out, sometimes to the point of being ridiculous. Redditors recently got together on r/movies, the largest movie subreddit, to discuss which movies have anachronisms, bugs, and other bugs they can’t help but love. After all, one could argue that flaws make something unique, not perfection.
10 ‘Titanic’ (1997)
Titanic It is fairly close to the actual story of the sinking, although it features several fictional characters and other fictional elements for plot purposes only. However, some anachronisms and other errors crept in. For example, we see a picture of the Statue of Liberty that looks like it does now - copper green - when in reality it would have been brown in 1912.
“IN TitanicJack talks about ice fishing on a lake that doesn’t exist, and Billy ZaneThe servant/killer is armed with a pistol that has not yet been invented. cracked suggested that Titanic This Terminator a film based on these details - I have a lot of fun thinking about it,” user DrRexMorman said.
9 The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)
This may come as a surprise given Peter Jacksonmeticulous attention to detail, but in fact there are quite a few blunders and errors in Lord of the Rings movie. It’s inevitable when you’re doing a project of this magnitude. For example, when Isildur’s dead body floats down the river, he is clearly wearing a pair of modern hiking boots.
Similarly, there is a shot where Arwen’s elf ears disappear and then reappear later. Redditor ReadOnly00’s favorite joke was that “when Sam and Frodo are in the scarecrow field, you can see a car drive past from right to left.”
8 Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003)
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl rife with goofs and anachronisms, as you’d expect from a movie based on a theme park ride. For example, some scenes take place in Port Royal, which was destroyed by an earthquake 22 years before the movie was supposed to take place.
There is even one frame where Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) wears a headscarf with the Adidas label clearly visible. For user tpphypemachine, the most memorable mistake was the scene where the “crew member in a cowboy hat” can be seen on the screen.
7 “10 Things I Hate About You” (1999)
10 things I don’t like about you is a romantic comedy that modernizes ShakespeareX The Taming of the Shrew. It focuses on Kat Stratford (Julia Stiles), a fiercely independent and witty teenager who is reluctantly pursued by the charming and pushy Patrick Verona (Heath Ledger).
“IN 10 things I don’t like about youa student who has to run for help after an arrow has been shot at someone does not run completely off the screen, but instead stops and turns around to watch the scene,” Reddit user Muscogee noted.
6 ‘Ghost World’ (2001)
ghost world great comic book movie Daniel Close and starring Thora Burch And Scarlett Johansson as two teenage friends going through a confusing transition from high school to adulthood when they become entangled in the life of a lonely local named Seymour (Steve Buscemi).
However, there are some errors, such as a shot that shows an overhead microphone. “Extra, who starred in ghost world was inadvertently presented as a customer in a porn shop,” added user fergi20020.
5 ‘Top Gun’ (1986)
Best shooter movies are a lot of fun, but far from the most realistic. A lot of things have been said and done that would never happen in real life. There are also a few outright errors, such as during the final dogfight where the Slider (Rick Rossovich) says Iceman (Val Kilmer) that the MiG is “to your left, 3 hours.” The direction at 3 o’clock is actually to the right; 9 o’clock will be on the left.
There is another scene where Goose (Anthony Edwards) says he’s at 6,000 feet, but his altimeter says he’s only at 2,000 feet. “I Caught My Own: Tokens for the End Throw Scene Best shooter belonged to Viper, not Goose,” said Reddit user TylerDurdenUMD.
4 The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002)
There are quite a few continuity errors in two towers and also, for example, horses appear saddled and then unsaddled, or characters are on one side of the screen in one frame and on the other side in the next. At some point, Legolas’ bow even changes color.
According to user Square3481, the most notable bug is “Eomer’s sword falling out of its hilt”. “This should make up for the very nice change in grip that the rider makes when he leans his javelin,” said Reddit user riegpsych325.
3 “The Manchurian Candidate” (1962)
Manchurian Candidate a classic Cold War thriller about a conspiracy involving brainwashing and assassination. Frank Sinatra starring. It’s well dated and still worth a look, though it also has some funny jokes.
For example, during one of the scenes in Korea, there is a US flag with 50 stars, although in 1952, when the movie takes place, there were only 48 states. User Fabulous_Ad_1842 mentioned another shot where “Laurence Harvey [can be seen] turning food out of the mouth.
2 “It Happened One Night” (1934)
Another classic It happened one night is a romantic comedy directed by Frank Capra and starring Clark Gable And Claudette Colbert. They play an unlikely couple brought together by circumstances as they embark on an exciting adventure across the United States.
There is a scene where one of the characters flies and lands in an autogyro, a kind of forerunner of the helicopter. However, Redditor Fabulous_Ad_1842 says that “a true autogyro stunt pilot [is] good visibility”.
1 Star Wars Episode IV - A New Hope (1977)
star Wars the franchise is the undisputed king of stupidity. The films have a ton of bugs, though they tend to work in the more casual atmosphere of the series without taking themselves too seriously. IN The Empire Strikes Back, a reflection of the film crew can be seen on C-3PO’s head. IN Return of the Jedione Ewok has apparently human fingers, and there is a moment when Vader’s lightsaber lights up the wrong way.
New Hopetakes the cake, however. “That poor stormtrooper,” user Kinofhera said, referring to a shot from the first film where a stormtrooper accidentally hits its head on a door frame. “star Wars was made extremely messy, including editing it. Perhaps in their rush/trying to make a good final cut, they completely missed it. Or Lucas liked it and kept it, especially since he never removed it in future versions and added a sound effect,” said Reddit user fcaboose.
