Babylon 5 The creator of the series teased the animated film last week J. Michael Straczynski Now there is a name and voice acting. Many of the surviving cast from the original series would reprise their roles in Warner Bros. Animation. Babylon 5: The Road Home. Now The Hollywood Reporter has unveiled a first look at the new animated project due out this summer.

The first image shows the Babylon 5 space station in all its new animated splendor. The station was demolished in the series finale “Sleepers in the Light”, but since this episode followed a twenty-year time jump, the film is likely to take place before its destruction, or entirely in another universe. The film’s logline reveals a hint of the plot, tempting the viewer to “travel the galaxy with John Sheridan as he suddenly finds himself transported through multiple timelines and alternate realities in search of a way home. Along the way, he is reunited. with some familiar faces, revealing new cosmic revelations about the history, purpose, and meaning of the universe.”

Bruce Boxleitner (Throne) will return to the role of Station Commander Sheridan, along with a number of others Babylon 5 cast, including Claudia Christian (9-1-1) as Susan Ivanova, Peter Jurasik (Blues Hill Street) as Londo Mollari, Bill Mumy (Lost in space) as Lennier, Tracy Scoggins (Dynasty) as Elizabeth Lochley and Patricia Tallman (1990s Night of the Living Dead remake) as Lita Alexander.

Babylon 5Actors: Gone But Not Forgotten

Some of Babylon 5The original cast members have passed away since the series aired in 1998, but their characters will live on in the upcoming feature film. The film will also feature Paul Guillet as Zathras (replacing Tim Choate) and Jeffrey Sinclair (replacing Michael O’Hara), Anthony Hansen as Michael Garibaldi (replacing Jerry Doyle), Samurai JackX Phil Lamarr as Dr. Stephen Franklin (replacing Richard Biggs), Andrew Morgado as G’Kar (replacing Andreas Katsoulas), And Rebecca Ready as Delenn (replacing Mira Furlan). Peter Michael will play John Sheridan’s son David, who was not in the original series, and Mara Junot will play a reporter and a computer voice.

Straczynski wrote the screenplay for the film and will serve as an executive producer. Matt Peters (Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons, Justice League Dark: Apokolips War) will direct the film, with Rick Morales acts as a producer-supervisor. Longtime veteran of Warner Bros. animation Sam Register is the executive producer of the project.
