Concluding the second week of release, Shazam! Fury of the gods grossed $102.4 million worldwide. Sequel in which they starred Zachary Levy starring marks the latest DC Studios project. It made an estimated $78 million in the original film’s two-week U.S. debut, and it earned an estimated $102 million internationally in its opening weekend. With a production budget of $110-125 million, Fury of the gods there is definitely a way to make some profit for Warner Bros. and DC.

The coming weeks will likely create new challenges for the superhero sequel, including big blockbusters like Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves And Movie Super Mario Bros. waiting in the wings. In terms of straight superhero fare, Fury of the gods has some respite, with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 it is the next film in this genre to hit theaters in early May. While competition with other current releases (i.e. Creek VI) could prove to be a factor in box office struggles, uncertainty with DC Studios and superhero fatigue could also be to blame.

Fury of the gods Levy stars as Shazam, the adult superhero alter ego of Billy Batson (Asher Angel). In the film, Billy and his fellow foster children “learn to balance their teenage lives with their adult superhero alter egos”.
