- Marvel Studios is considering bringing back the original Avengers ensemble, which included Robert Downey Jr. and Scarlett Johansson, who died in Avengers: Endgame.
- Recent success Spider-Man The film, which featured the same actors as past villains, suggests that the return of deceased characters is possible in the world of comics.
- However, bringing back these actors would be a significant expense given their previous salaries and the need for a strong script. Disney is facing declining box office returns and negative reviews.
Marvel Studios is having a bad time right now, and when things go wrong, you tend to look back at what worked before and try it again. In the light Bob IgerAfter publicly acknowledging the shortcomings of Marvel’s glut of TV content, Marvel Studios executives are mulling some drastic measures, Variety reports.
Insider reports suggest that discussions have been held regarding potentially reviving the original Avengers ensemble for a new film. This ambitious project involves returning Robert Downey Jr. like Iron Man and Scarlett Johansson like Black Widow, both of whom met their demise in Avengers: Endgame. But these are still comics. Who Really Stays Dead? Especially when we are talking about huge amounts of money.
After all, the very last Spider-Man movie, No way home it featured a whole host of villains, all played by the same actors from the past, most of whom were killed off in their own films. It’s important to note that the studio hasn’t committed to this concept yet, and if it were to get these actors to return, it would come at a significant cost. Inside sources report that Robert Downey Jr.’s advance fee for Iron Man 3 was approximately $25 million - and that’s when Marvel was on the rise. Heading back to Downey’s well and maybe trying to get to Chris Evans on board again too? This will require a lot of money and an even better scenario.
But Disney may have to face the fact that the Marvel name is slowly losing its reputation due to falling box office receipts. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 a rare exception - and reviews from bad to average, not to mention its own PR shocker with Jonathan Majors situation. The solution to this problem is to put more asses in seats and stop the flow of negativity. Although this is easier said than done.
Will the original Avengers return?
As it stands, the remaining original Avengers still on the board are Chris Hemsworththis is Thor Jeremy RennerHawkeye - although Renner himself is lucky to be alive now - and Mark RuffaloHulk. While these three are big names in their own right, Downey, Johansson, and Evans are the three biggest names Disney could pull out of the bag. But it’s a desperate situation, and since Marvel’s current phase revolves around the Multiverse, they may have to dive into an alternate universe where these three actors want to come back and don their superhero costumes one last time. Johansson is still under contract to Marvel and producing her own project, so she’ll have to do some negotiations there. Downey and Evans may have to break into the vault.
