My sister’s bonesupcoming psychological thriller Bill KenwrightBKStudios featuring Olga Kurilenko And Jenny Seagrove, released their first images on time. The film is based on a novel written by Nuala Elwood and it will tell the story of a decorated war reporter who must return home after the death of his mother and face the demons she has returned from the war with as well as those unearthed at home.
The tense story begins in a depressing police station when Dr. Shaw, a psychiatrist, questions renowned war correspondent Kate Rafter about traumatic events in her life. Herne Bay, the place she thought she had left forever, is now home again to the haunted Rafter, who has returned from a horrific incident in war-torn Iraq and the death of her mother. Her evil sister has not accepted her, and her tolerant husband Paul cannot mediate the conflict. Rafter suspects that something strange and scary is going on in the house next door while she collects her mother’s belongings from the house where she grew up.
The original novel was published in February 2017 and made into a movie. Naomi Gibney. The film will be directed by Heidi Greensmith making it the director’s second project after Winter. Speaking about the film, Greensmith said, “Creating a strong, distinctive style that reflects the complexity of the story was just as important to me as working with our incredible cast to find the truth behind the Rafter family’s trauma so that together we can create a distinctive thriller.” The director went on to add: “Every story needs an element of suspense, but as Hitchcock said, ‘there is no horror in the explosion, only anticipation.’ ”
Just from work in HeatKurylenko starred in the upcoming thriller with David Bradley And Maggie Steed with Bradley, recently voiced Guillermo del ToroOscar-winning Pinocchio. Acting as executive producers on My sister’s bones are David Gilbury And Naomi George for BKStudios with Kenwright serving as the film’s producer. After choosing the film rights in 2017, Kenwright spoke about the acquisition, saying, “As a producer, I’m always looking for something intangible, something special. And I love thrillers! After reading Nuala’s novel, I immediately thought that this might be the one; a thriller that transcends the genre, almost reinventing it. I bought several copies for my friends and the verdict was unanimous: the best British thriller in recent memory. Thus begins the search for a screenwriter to match Nuala’s extraordinary talent for characters, suspense and beautiful storytelling.”
